The NHS website states that the cause of Febrile Convulsions is unknown, although generally they are linked to the start of a fever or infection. Common examples are chicken pox, flu, middle ear infection or tonsillitis. Febrile Convulsions can occur with a high temperature or 38C or above, therefore:
Do not send your child in with a temperature of 38C or above
If your child starts a fever they will be sent home
Calpol will be given to your child after we have contacted one of the parents and they are on there way.
